Comox Valley Rapids Rugby finished a fantastic day of rugby on Dec\u00a08 as they claimed both the U16 and U18 Girls Provincial Championships at Starlight Stadium.<\/p>\n
The U16 team produced a fantastic performance to stun their mainland rivals Abbotsford. Building on a 14-7 half-time lead they scored a flurry of 2nd half tries to finish an intense and thrilling final with a 29-7 final score.<\/p>\n

The U18 team followed with a down to the wire, tenacious performance. Abbotsford took a two try lead by the half but Rapids showed determination in their second half comeback with 2 tries and a conversion to win it in the final minutes of the game.<\/p>\n
Thank you for the fans who braved the chilly weather, to Abbotsford for\u00a0 being a formidable\u00a0opponent and to BC Rugby for a great day!<\/p>\n

The VSI 7s tournament features the best age grade rugby athletes from all regions of British Columbia competing at UBC, on February 21-22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n U18 Girls will be selected by BC Rugby and participate in the tournament on assigned teams. They will not be part of the Junior Tides 7s program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
